Contest number ONE!

Ok, I've posted the rules in the other thread, but decided to create individual threads for each contest on its own.

This contest is basically an incentive to bring in new members...ACTIVE members, and the limit to reach for the prize drawing is only 25 *active members! TWENTY FIVE! That's not so hard to reach is it? And all I ask is that you post in the threads, and generally contribute to this community in order for us to become a FAMILY. This is the vibe I'm going for here.

This is YOUR forum, and I want you all to feel comfortable and free to discuss our favorite topic, zombies! Of course you may talk about other horror stuff, just as long as you create a thread to keep some sort of organization, LOL! Did you write a book? Tell us about it! Do you dabble in art? Show up your work! How about that movie you just saw, or TV show? Let us know how you feel about it! The sky's the limit!

I have the Compendium so having the actual Book One would be awesome.

Yeah, Book One actually features the first 12 issues, and contains a bonus short story about Morgan and Duane, the father and son from issue #1, and although not included, it parallels issue #7. (Chapter Two in this hardcover edition.) It originally appeared in the Image Comics Holiday Special in 2005. This hardcover contains lots of really nice features, such as color artwork, and behind the scenes stuff about how ideas were developed and brought to life in the process of creating the comic. There are seven hardcover editions in total for this particular collection, encompassing the entire comic series plus bonus extras. This contest is only for Book One.

We've got 15 members so far, but not all are active. I really appreciate those that are posting regularly though, but can I ask a favor? Can you PRETTY PLEASE help promote this forum, and inform them that this place will not only rock their socks off, but that there will be contests running on a regular basis? Thank you!

Honestly if we can get enough people together here and this place takes off, I'm actually considering running MONTHLY contests, just because it's fun, and to show appreciation for loyalty. It's not about buying friends, HELL NO! It's about rewarding those who help make this place a real home! How many forums do you know do this? NONE!

I haven't read any of the Walking Dead books, but am loving the TV show. It really is the only show I never miss. I think this place is a great idea, and you are definitely a zombie fanatic (meant that as a compliment). I'm happy to be included! And I will share the link again!

This is really nice of you and I'll try to post more often. I'm not really active on forums due to it sometimes brings out opinionated mean people. I hate that. But when I found out this forum is run by a woman I thought maybe it'll be different here?

Hmmmm, interesting. I know exactly what you are talking about, and that's not going to happen here, I promise you! Check out the thread with the forum rules and you'll see that there will be zero tolerance for bad behavior here. So post away!

Oh yeah, and good luck! If we can get 25 regular posters there will be a prize drawing!

I see we have 9 guests viewing this forum. I have a nice prize to give away. For FREE. Like, not a cheap one either. All you need to do is join, and post. That's it. We've reached 25 members, some active, some not so much. So I'm extending the contest deadline for another week, and see how activity here goes. Next Sunday I will pull a name out of a bowl of the ACTIVE MEMBERS ONLY, so if you don't have more than just a couple of posts, I don't think it's fair to include your name in with the people who are actually trying to make this forum a place to call home. Sorry for having to put it bluntly like that. I will post the video on Monday, Feb. 13th, and notify the winner by email, where they can then send me their address to send them the prize.

After that, Next month, in March I will be running another contest, yet to be announced. Pretty much on this forum you can expect a contest to be running at least bi-monthly.

I am extending the contest by one more day, so tomorrow I will pull a name for a winner, and post the video. I will also formally contact the winner by both PM and email in order to get their address so I can mail them their prize.

Another contest will be announced in the coming weeks!

So much for fairness...I goofed. Some names were not included by accident, and now I feel bad.

TL Decay remains the winner of the book, however I am going to pool the names that were accidentally left out into their own mini contest and pull another name for a different prize. It won't be the same prize as was in this contest, but just as cool, I assure you. To make up for the difference of being excluded, remember that this mini contest will consist of only the names that were excluded by accident, thus giving the contestants greater odds of winning a prize.

I apologize for my goof and promise it won't happen again.

Julianne Snow was picked to receive a copy of Zach Recht's Plague of the Dead, published by Permuted Press!

This book has since been picked up by Simon & Schuster, so this is the more rare edition!

As you might know, Z is no longer with us and his legacy lives on in his books. The third installment is scheduled to be released this spring and it was "ghost written" (completed posthumously by the talented Thom Brannon) using Z's unfinished manuscript. God bless him and may his books live on forever in zombie fandom!
